Undergraduate Education

All education courses below are designed predominantly for students in the following engineering fields: Industrial and Operations Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering.

REU experience:
10-week interdisciplinary team research project for undergraduates from other institutions; 12 students being sought for Summer 2000.

Student Presentation Skills Workshop:
A series of half-day workshops focusing on improving student presentation skills. Topics include: interaction with diverse media, effectively answering questions, and leading an effective poster presentation.

Team Effectiveness Skills Workshops:
Annual 1-day workshops designed to enhance working on one's own project group and across clusters of projects.

Marian Sarah Parker Scholars Program/Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program:
Using these previously established programs at the University of Michigan, the ERC recruits and involves women and students of color to ERC research projects for the duration of 1-2 semesters.

Data Collection Teams:
A team of predominantly undergraduates works together with a graduate mentor, travels to sponsor companies to collect data on maintainability and reliability of machines and assesses data for feedback reports to sponsor companies as well as to use in testbed planning.
